It removes the hair by emitting a pulse of light which is absorbed by the pigment of the hair root through the surface of the skin and temporarily disables the hair follicle. It can be used to remove unwanted body hair on areas like underarms, bikini line, arms and legs.

How does light remove the hair?

The light-based hair removal is based on the selective photo thermolysis theory in which optical energy is used to disable hair growth. To obtain this thermal effect to the hair root to selectively absorb light energy and transform it into heat. This selectivity is obtained when the optical energy supplied to the tissue is absorbed most of the pigment of the root hair, while the skin and surrounding tissue remain fresh. Melanin is the pigment in the root of hair that is responsible for absorbing light, which generates heat that ultimately disables the hair growth. Therefore the more melanin is present in the hair (the more darker the hair) the more light can be absorbed and more light can be effective in removing hair.

How does the cycle of hair growth affect
on light-based hair removal?

Every hair of our body goes through three phases of the cycle of hair growth: anagen, catagen and telogen. These stages have a major impact on how it works based hair removal pulsed light. Anagen is the phase of the hair growth while catagen and telogen, they are both periods of rest. The time it takes to complete a full cycle of hair growth varies from person to person and from place of body hair, but should be typically 18 to 24 months. At any given moment most of the hair follicles in the area of the skin are in rest periods. These hairs in resting phase may not be affected by the device. However, the hairs in the anagen growth phase react to different applications. It is important to understand that can take a full cycle the hair growth to achieve the complete removal of hair.

A typical complete cycle of the hair growth can take anywhere from 18 to 24 months. Duringthis time it may take several sessions to achieve long-term hair removal. The effectiveness of hair removal varies from person to person depending on body parts, color of hair, andthe way the unit is used . A typical plan of hair removal during a complete cycle of the hair growth: The first 3-4 sessions of hair removal will be about two weeks apart. The 5-7sessions of hair removal will be approximately four weeks apart. Then we use theapparatus from time in time as and when necessary, to achieve long-term results.

The device is not effective on hair naturally white, gray, blond or red.
